Welcome to the Monorene Guesthouse, where a warm Scottish Borders welcome awaits you by Malcolm and Joan Hawgood.

We are situated in the heart of Galashiels opposite the Bus Station. Galashiels is in the geographical heart of the borders and is a great place to start exploring the area.

The Borders is full of historic places to visit: Ancient Abbeys, Stately homes, Museums, Roman Ruins and most of all the most beautiful scenery that can be found in Scotland.
 

The Scottish Borders is also home to Freedom of the Fairways where you can visit up to 21 of the friendliest Golf Courses in Scotland with Golf passports from £65 for 3 days and £90 for 5 days. (Passports are valid from 1st April to 31st Oct 2003)
